Key Benefits

Low light, low maintenance

The Philodendron narrow is low maintenance and easy to care for, so it’s a good place to start if you’re a new plant owner. It’s not fussy and is known to survive low light levels and light watering.

Plant Care Tips: Philodendron narrow

  • Light: The Philodendron narrow enjoys bright, indirect light. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight - we recommend positioning it near a window.
  • Humidity: Keep this plant in humid environments and mist regularly.
  • Water: Water when the top two inches of soil are dry - about once a week in summer and once a month in winter.
  • Avoid draughts and provide suitable ventilation.
  • Temperature: Keep this plant at temperatures of 18-24°C.
  • Fertiliser: Use a liquid fertiliser once a month during the growing season (late spring to early August).
  • Cleaning: Use a damp cloth to clean any dust from your Philodendron’s leaves. Do not use leaf shine as this will damage your plant.
  • Propagation: Propagate your plant using stem cuttings.

Pets: This plant is toxic and must be kept away from pets and children.

Philodendron narrow - Common Issues and Questions

My Philodendron narrow has yellow leaves. What am I doing wrong?

Yellow leaves are the first sign that your Philodendron is being overwatered. Make sure that you’re allowing the top two inches of soil to dry out before watering - this should be around once a week. You should also ensure that you are using a well-draining pot and are watering your plant less frequently during the winter months.

Common pests: Spider mites, mealybugs and scale.
