Plant Care Tips

Light: Place in a bright indirect to low light for optimal growth. Money Trees are low-light tolerant and adapt well to artificial light.

  • Temperature: Your Money Tree will grow best in temperatures between 15ºC and 29ºC. Avoid exposure to temperatures below 10ºC.
  • Water: Water weekly or when the top 5 cm of soil is dry. Drain excess water from the pot to avoid root rot.
  • Fertilizer: Feed monthly with a balanced fertilizer when the plant is actively growing. Typically during spring and summer.
  • Propagation: Propagate in the spring or summer by stem cuttings. Cut the stem with a node and place in water until it forms roots.

Pets: Non-toxic. It’s always best to keep plants away from pets and children.

Where is it from?

Money Trees are native to South and Central America.

Is the Money Tree for me?

The Money Tree is the perfect low-maintenance flatmate we’re all searching for. Their ability to thrive in low light levels and fluorescent lights make them a perfect addition to bathrooms, bedrooms and offices. Beautiful green textured leaves bring a sense of lightness and ease. In Feng Shui, there are several plants that increase abundance and wealth. But the Money Tree is superior in many ways. So, if you’re into Feng Shui, place them in a Southeast corner to help promote wealth and prosperity in your house!

Money Tree: Common Problems

Why am I getting light brown marks on my leaves?

Money Trees are sensitive to direct sunlight, which can also stunt their growth. Move the plant to a new location with indirect light.

Why are the leaves dropping?

Money Trees don’t like changing locations very often. Once you find a good spot for your plant, keep it there. An occasional leaf drop is natural and shouldn’t cause concern. Ensure the spot is draft-free, as they are sensitive to cold.

Common Pests: Money Trees can be susceptible to mealybugs and scale.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Money Trees pet-friendly?

These plants are considered non-toxic and safe around children and pets. However, it’s best practice to keep plants out of their reach!

Should I mist my Money Tree?

Money Trees love humidity. Regularly spray the leaves or keep a pebble tray and fill with water to help increase the surrounding humidity!

How big will my Money Tree get?

In their natural habitat, Money Trees can grow up to 18 metres tall! When grown indoors, they can reach a height of around 3 metres. Regular pinching and pruning will keep the plant from growing too big.
